3 Outdoor Tiles Trends for Autumn 2021

Dark & Stormy: 3 Outdoor Tile Trends for Autumn 2021

1: Earthy Sandstone-Look Pavers

In autumn, natural colours inspired by the outdoors often make it into the top trends and this year it is earthy clay shades. When it comes to tiling, stone-coloured tiles are especially popular as they are timeless and extremely versatile. They can be paired with a complementary colour or neutral colour palette which is perfect for any styling theme.

Our natural stone-look pavers replicate the many colours and textures we see in natural sandstone but with a hard-wearing porcelain finish – making them suitable for outdoor use.

This season we recommend sand and light greys as a base colour for a neutral outdoor patio or tiled feature. The Travertine Ivory porcelain tiles and Quartz Silver pavers (pictured below) are ideal for adding that natural stone looks to your home.

2: Countryside Travertine Stone

The traditional countryside look is inspired by stunning autumnal colours such as reds, browns, oranges, and hints of gold all around – all the warming colours you would expect to see on a crisp, walk through the countryside in autumn.

Travertine is the perfect option for creating these countryside inspired patios or outdoor-entertaining spaces. Our Silver Travertine is naturally an anti-slip tile, which is great for durability. The veining in the silver travertine stone blends perfectly with the natural elements of the outdoors, confirming you will enjoy this stone for this autumn and more to come. The silver travertine is also available in a stone-look porcelain tile, that emulates these features and quality at the perfect price-point.

3: Creative Patterns

We love seeing our customers get creative with their outdoor designs and as we move further into the year, we expect to see a lot more people creating unique and abstract patterns in the outdoor spaces of their home. Herringbone, for example, is a classic pattern seen mostly in interior design. Many designers and homeowners are recreating this aesthetic in the outdoors by paving the floor with chic and timeless herringbone patterns. To get this look, we recommend our timber-look tiles. The long rectangle shape is perfect for creating a herringbone lay and the warmth of the timber colours are perfect for this season.

Another trend that is gaining a lot of traction is using bright, vibrant colours that ‘pop’ to create an eye-catching feature wall. Using the bright contrast against more subtle colours will give an arty, modern twist to any room. You can use colourful patterns to achieve a modern look or keep it simple with just a splash of colour. For some inspiration, look at our Picasso and Artisan – these patterns will transform you outdoors and capture attention by becoming a real focal point in the home.
