It started with a single showroom, a big vision, and one man who knew the tile game inside and out.

Virgil, our founder, had already spent over three decades immersed in the world of stone, ceramic, and porcelain before The Tile Collective came to life in 2013.

What started as a simple idea—to bring quality, affordability, and style to Aussie homes—has grown into something far bigger. This October, we turn 12.

From one store to five bustling locations across South East Queensland, a warehouse stacked to the rafters, and over 50 team members driving the dream forward—we're not slowing down. Expansion is coming. And so is the next evolution of your space.

Virgil steps into the world of tiles as a young apprentice, setting foot on construction sites with grit, passion, and an eye for detail. It’s the start of what will become a lifelong obsession with creating beautiful spaces from the ground up.

Burns Coast Tile

The brand sees its first major sales boost during a seasonal promotion, gaining reputation through social media marketing and customer reviews.

Tile Ezy Formation

Spotting a gap in the market, Virgil evolves the business into wholesale. Tile Ezy is born, quickly becoming the trusted supplier behind large-scale residential developments, partnering with building giants like Metricon and Oracle Homes.

Albion Warehouse

The online world comes calling. A small warehouse in Albion becomes the dispatch hub for a booming eBay and Gumtree presence. It’s a true DIY era—tiles loaded by hand, orders packed by family, and a dream quietly growing.

Cheap Tiles Online

A big leap forward. With growing stock and a bigger space in Herston, Cheap Tiles Online is born. The online store takes off, proving that beautiful tiles can be affordable, accessible, and sold without the smoke and mirrors.

Underwood Store

The first bricks-and-mortar store opens at Underwood, giving customers a chance to touch, feel, and explore the range in person. With a trusty truck on the road, deliveries go local, and the community starts to take notice.

Underwood Warehouse

As orders pile up, the team levels up. A 900m² warehouse opens nearby, giving the growing crew more space to breathe, store, and scale. The business starts to look more like a collective—and less like a side hustle.

The Tile Collective

A new name, a new identity. Cheap Tiles Online evolves into The Tile Collective—a brand that represents not just price, but people. The team expands, and so does the focus: commercial builders, designers, and trades start coming on board.

Woodridge Hub

In a bold move, the team invests in a 3200m² warehouse, new head office, and design studio in Woodridge. A Brisbane City store opens, and the collective grows to 20+ members. The brand steps into its next phase with serious momentum.

Warehouse Additions

With sales surging and demand rising, the Woodridge distribution centre gets a major upgrade. More stock, more team, more systems—ready to serve homeowners and commercial clients faster than ever.

Labrador Launch

The Collective hits the coast. A new showroom opens in Labrador, bringing style, service, and smart pricing to Gold Coast renovators. It’s a warm welcome—and another stamp on the map for The Tile Collective.

Modern Makeover

Eleven years in, and it’s time for a glow-up. The brand undergoes a full refresh—from logo and tone of voice to store layouts and social content. The message is bold, the energy is fun, and the Collective is louder (and prouder) than ever.

Woodridge Outlet

Enter the Factory Outlet: a fifth location and a game-changer for budget-conscious shoppers. Packed with stock and unbeatable prices, this Woodridge site is proof that premium tiles don’t need premium price tags.

Anniversary Celebration
